about us
Sankalpa is a non-profit organization committed to environmental sustainability and community wellness. Based in New Jersey, we lead initiatives such as native tree plantations, removal of invasive plants, plastic reduction, and educational outreach to inspire greener living.
Our commitment to community care also includes seasonal toy and food drives, fostering a spirit of compassion and support for those in need. At Sankalpa, we believe that small, mindful actions can lead to lasting change—for our neighborhoods and our planet.
Our Programs
Tree Plantation
Our tree plantation initiatives focus on restoring ecological balance in our local area, especially at Plainsboro Preserve. We work to remove invasive plant species and replace them with native plants that support local wildlife and biodiversity. Volunteers also help clean and maintain trails to keep the preserve safe and accessible for the community. Additionally, planting native trees helps prevent soil erosion and protect the land from water damage, ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.
Toy/Food Donation
Each year during the Christmas season, Sankalpa proudly hosts its annual Toy Drive and Food Drive, spreading joy and support to families in need. Rooted in compassion, sustainability, and community spirit, these initiatives bring families and local organizations together for a shared purpose. Each donated toy and food item represents hope, kindness, and care during the holiday season. We are deeply grateful to our generous supporters who help us build a more connected and compassionate community year after year.
Humanitarian Relief
Sankalpa USA has consistently supported communities during crises through humanitarian relief efforts in the U.S. and abroad. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization provided significant funding to assist relief efforts in both India and the United States. Following the devastating Cyclone Amphan in 2020, Sankalpa USA raised funds to support affected victims and recovery initiatives. In 2024, the organization also contributed to California wildfire relief by donating to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Freya Village to help impacted families. These efforts reflect Sankalpa USA’s ongoing commitment to empathy, community support, and disaster relief.
