Tree Plantation and Donation

Tree Plantation & Environmental Stewardship in Our Local Area
As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, we are proud to continue our tree plantation and conservation efforts within our local community, including work at Plainsboro Preserve.
🌿 Restoring Native Habitat at Plainsboro Preserve
One of our key initiatives focuses on removing invasive plant species and replacing them with native plants. Invasive plants often spread aggressively, outcompeting native vegetation and disrupting the natural balance of the ecosystem.
By carefully clearing invasive growth and planting native trees and shrubs, we help:
Restore biodiversity
Support local wildlife, birds, and pollinators
Improve long-term ecosystem health
Native plants are better adapted to local soil and climate conditions, making them more resilient and beneficial to the environment.
🥾 Cleaning and Maintaining Trails
Clean and safe trails encourage community members to connect with nature. Our volunteers regularly participate in trail clean-up activities to:
Remove litter

Toy/Food Donation

Each year during the Christmas season, Sankalpa proudly hosts its annual Toy Drive, an event rooted in compassion, sustainability, and community spirit. As an environmentally conscious nonprofit, Sankalpa encourages the donation of new toys, ensuring that children in need experience the joy and warmth of the holidays. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community, whose heartfelt contributions make this initiative possible year after year. Sankalpa sincerely thanks everyone who donates, helping us spread cheer and build a more caring, connected world during this special season. The Toy Drive is more than just a holiday tradition—it is a reflection of Sankalpa’s broader mission to nurture compassion, collective responsibility, and environmental awareness. While the event centers around gift-giving, its impact reaches far deeper. It brings together individuals, families, and local organizations in a shared purpose: to uplift and support those who may be facing hardship during what should be the most joyful time of the year. Each new toy donated is more than just a gift—it’s a symbol of hope, belonging, and kindness. Through this initiative, Sankalpa aims to cultivate a spirit of giving that lasts beyond the holidays, inspiring year-round action and empathy. We envision a world where communities are connected not just by proximity, but by care and commitment to one another—and it is through efforts like the Toy Drive that this vision comes to life.

Humanitarian Releif

Sankalpa USA has consistently supported communities during crises through humanitarian relief efforts in the U.S. and abroad. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization provided significant funding to assist relief efforts in both India and the United States. Following the devastating Cyclone Amphan in 2020, Sankalpa USA raised funds to support affected victims and recovery initiatives. In 2024, the organization also contributed to California wildfire relief by donating to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Freya Village to help impacted families. Additionally, Sankalpa USA has channeled support to trusted partners such as Bharat Sevasram Sangha and Belur Math, enabling aid for disaster-affected communities and ongoing humanitarian projects in India. These contributions highlight the organization’s dedication to rapid, compassionate response across borders. Overall, these efforts reflect Sankalpa USA’s ongoing commitment to empathy, community support, and disaster relief. The organization continues to prioritize partnerships with established institutions that deliver direct, accountable assistance, ensuring donations reach those in greatest need. This approach has allowed Sankalpa USA to respond effectively to both immediate emergencies and longer-term recovery needs. Through these sustained efforts, Sankalpa USA strengthens global solidarity and builds resilience in vulnerable communities.

Volunteer Appreciation

Sankalpa has introduced a structured program to recognize and encourage youth volunteers for their community service efforts. Throughout the year, volunteers actively participate in various initiatives that benefit the community. Every hour of service is carefully recorded and tracked to ensure accurate recognition of their contributions. This system helps instill a sense of responsibility, commitment, and social awareness among the youth. At the end of the year, volunteers receive official certificates that acknowledge the total hours they have dedicated to community work. These certificates serve as both recognition and motivation, encouraging continued involvement in meaningful social activities.

Donation to Environmental Projects

Sankalpa USA (sankalpausa.org) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental sustainability and community wellness, with donations directly supporting impactful green initiatives. The organization prioritizes projects based on environmental urgency, scientific data, and community relevance, including extensive tree plantation efforts—such as removing invasive species and planting native trees at locations like Plainsboro Preserve to enhance biodiversity, prevent soil erosion, and protect local wildlife and ecosystems. Donations fund these restoration and greening activities, along with broader sustainability work like reducing plastic use and promoting mindful environmental practices through education and advocacy.

Environmental Awareness

Sankalpa USA actively promotes environmental awareness during Plainsboro Founder’s Day through engaging activities. Interactive games teach kids the importance of trees, clean water, and waste reduction in a fun way. Cultural events blend music, performances, and storytelling with eco-themes to highlight heritage and sustainability. Volunteers lead sapling planting, clean-ups, and workshops, inspiring families to adopt green habits year-round. These efforts make Founder’s Day a key platform for building lasting environmental consciousness in Princeton Junction.
